Guggenheigm Museum

Project details:

Guggenheigm Museum
Description : The Guggenheim Abu Dhabi is a modern and contemporary art museum currently under construction on Saadiyat Island. The building was designed by the renowned architect Frank Gehry, known for his work on other Guggenheim museums. Its design is distinctive, featuring a series of conical structures inspired by traditional regional wind towers. Once complete, its collection will focus on art from the 20th and 21st centuries, with a particular emphasis on works from West Asia, North Africa, and South Asia.
Scope : Our scope of works included the design, preassembly, supply, and supervision of formwork systems for both rectangular and circular columns. The rectangular columns measured up to 2.0m on plan and 10.0m in height, while the circular columns reached up to 3.0m in diameter and 4.0m in height. Each column element was cast in a single pour, without any joints. The rectangular columns utilized a combination of soldiers and aluminium beams, complete with integrated access systems. The circular columns were custom fabricated with 4mm steel face plates to withstand the concrete pressures specified by the project team. All column formworks were preassembled at our factory and delivered to site ready for immediate use, significantly reducing on-site assembly time and improving efficiency.
